As we evolved, we channeled this custom-tailored expertise into a new focus: luxury occasion wear. Today, Sayo Silver designs striking, meticulously crafted dresses for life’s unforgettable moments, marrying our rich heritage of couture-level craftsmanship with modern, sophisticated design. From inception, Sayo Silver rejected the pace and disposability of trend driven fashion. Instead Sayo Silver was built on a singular philosophy: creating garments that endure, crafted for longevity, rich in meaning and designed to hold personal value far beyond a single season.
The brand beautifully inhabits a space within modern African luxury. A defining milestone in the brand’s evolution was the move to a new atelier location in Ikeja GRA, accompanied by a rebrand and commemorative collection. This transition marked a maturation of the house, expanding accessibility while reinforcing its luxury positioning and commitment to a more immersive client experience.
Today, Sayo Silver continues to operate as a craft led luxury house where bridal couture, bespoke tailoring, and occasion wear are treated as enduring works of design. Each garment reflects a dialogue between heritage and modernity, artistry and discipline, statement and wearability. The result is clothing is created not simply to be worn, but to be remembered, preserved and carried forward.
The Vision Behind Sayo Silver
The story of Sayo Silver begins long before its first creation, in the formative years of its founder and Creative Director, Adesayo Adesina. Raised in a home where dressmaking was both an art and a way of life, Adesayo’s earliest encounters with fashion were shaped by the quiet artistry of her mother, a fashion designer. From the rhythm of the sewing machine to the careful selection of fabrics and the transformation of simple materials into beautiful garments, she grew up surrounded by the intricacies of the craft. In those early moments, an appreciation for craftsmanship, patience and the beauty of creation began to take root. What was once the familiar backdrop of her childhood would, in time, become the inspiration for a creative vision distinctly her own.
Her journey has since evolved through a rich blend of academic achievement, specialised training and international experience. Adesayo holds a Bachelor of Education in Social Studies from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, and a Master of Education in Educational Administration from the University of Lagos, Akoka. Her pursuit of excellence in fashion has taken her from Nobel Afrik Fashion Academy in Lagos Nigeria, to London College of Fashion and Central Saint Martins both in London, England, as well as garment manufacturing facilities within the Ready-Made Garment (RMG) industry in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Each experience has brought a new dimension to her understanding of design, refining her appreciation for the relationship between artistry, precision and craftsmanship. Today, Adesayo brings together the influences of her upbringing, the discipline of formal education and a global perspective on fashion to shape the creative direction of Sayo Silver. Her work reflects a commitment to thoughtful design, exceptional craftsmanship and an enduring expression of modern femininity.
